In Memory of
Bear

April, 2006

Bear came to Journey's End as a shelter pull. His family had abandoned him and he had spent the last nine days in quarantine at a local shelter. He was immediately taken to the vet where several tests were run. Bear was so weak and ill that Florence had to move his temporary pen a little bit each hour across the yard to finally get him into the living room. Poor Bear couldn't keep anything down and could barely lift his head up. He tried so hard to get some water down but to no avail. Florence said, "He's given up".

Bear died in Florence's arms, his first night at Journey's End. The test results came back the following morning. It was too late.
