Dobie's human went into a nursing home and at the time, his human said that she
was paying someone to feed her animals. Then Florence received a call from
animal control about two starving animals that had been left unattended
in the woman's home. Not only did Florence bring the two dogs to
Journey's End, she also brought their human home with her from the
nursing home and cared for her as well.
Eventually Dobie got Alzheimer's disease. She spent most of her day meandering
around outside and often forgot where she was. She was fed separately from the
other dogs to make sure that she didn't forget to eat each day. She was a
very sound sleeper and was usually the last one up in the morning.
