In Memory of
Hunter

February, 2011

A couple of girls were riding horses in a national forest and watched across a lake as a man pushed Hunter out of a truck. He started to drive away, but the dog ran after the truck. The man stopped, got out of the truck and beat Hunter, and finally drove away. The girls rode over and picked him up, and carried him home on horseback. Luckily he wasn't seriously injured, and the girls arranged for him to have a home here.

Hunter was a gentle, shy guy who lived in the back kitchen. He had a lot of good years here and lived to be quite old. One day Florence noticed he was coughing and took him to the vet. The vet found 2 tumors near his stomach, and said there was nothing that could be done to save him. Within a week he started to show signs of pain and had to be put down.
