Malachi originally belonged to a lady who had to go to a mental hospital after her son died.
The relatives who were cleaning out her home told the movers to take him
to the Humane Society, but instead one of the movers knew of Journey's
End and made arrangements for him to come here.
Malachi appeared to have been well cared for, although he only had 4 teeth
when he arrived. He was very stressed at first...he wouldn't eat, and would
hiss and spit when approached.
For several months, he remained shy and he stayed mostly
in one of the bathrooms. He finally finally started to feel at home
here. He would spend most of his time in the front room, and was
friendly with visitors.
He lived to be around 19 or 20, and was active and in fairly good health
until the end. He was finally put down after he couldn't get up one
day...the vet said he was basically dying of old age.
