Lulu

Lulu is a hound who was abandoned at around 8 years old. She was weak and in fairly poor condition when found. She has very bad teeth and will probably need to have some of them removed, but the vet wants her to get stronger before doing any dental work. She has an arched back, and a hard lump on her back that will be aspirated soon. She sometimes quivers when urinating, which may be due to pain in her back.

Our best guess is that Lulu had been used for breeding. When she arrived, she hadn't been spayed, and she hardly had any fur on her sides, possibly from sleeping on concrete in a pen. She also has a real fondness for smaller dogs, which could be due to being around puppies in her past life. She stands at the door and watches the PeeWee dogs when they are out in the front yard. She likes being let out with them, and they are starting to accept her even though she is much larger.

Lulu had probably known hunger at some point in her past, and she quickly became notorious for stealing any food she can get at. She will immediately devour any people-food left on the counter, including sandwiches, snacks, and Florence's dinner. She will grab and run off with any bowl of cat food that is left within her reach.

Lulu loves getting into the playpen where Skippy sleeps. She poked a hole in the side so she can climb in. She might crave the security, or just like sleeping on a soft bed.
